FAIRFAX, Va., Oct. 31 — Edelman Financial Services has again been named as one of the Washington D.C. region's "Great Places to Work" by Washingtonian magazine.

It is the third consecutive time that Edelman Financial Services has been included on the prestigious list, which has been compiled biennially by Washingtonian since 1999. EFS is the only financial planning and advisory firm named in the current survey, which is published in the magazine's November 2007 issue.

Washingtonian said its rankings are based on each firm's "interesting work, good pay and benefits, collegial staff, employee development, and flexibility."

"We're extremely proud of this honor," said company founder and chairman Ric Edelman. "The work we do on behalf of our clients — helping them to achieve long-term financial security — is vitally important and requires us to attract and retain the services of a talented group of employees."

Washingtonian citied some of EFS' "interesting perks," including half-day Fridays during summer months, a paid four-week sabbatical after six years of service, a Rolex watch after 10 years, and fun employee outings and activities.

EFS manages $3.5 billion for individuals and families nationwide.  The firm employs 130 people at three locations in the Washington D.C. area.

Ric Edelman was recently named the No. 2 independent financial advisor in the county by Barron's. He hosts The Ric Edelman Show, broadcast by the ABC Radio Networks, writes weekly newspaper column, and is the author of six books on personal finance, including the new best-seller, The Lies About Money.
